My trip to the Texas Gulf coast was a journey to primarily see two of the most endangered species in North America. The Whooping Crane and the Attwater Prairie Chicken. These two in particular have almost gone extinct and were on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Endangered Red list and are considered at the top of the list of the most endangered birds of North America. Whooping Cranes numbers dropped as low as 21 in the wild and only 2 captives.
A pictorial review of my Dec 2019 trip to Bosque Del Apache in New Mexico. This area abounds in birds and other species. I really enjoyed the Kestrels this year as they are so colorful and quick. They are really hard to photograph in flight.
I've always had a fascination with bears. I've loved old stories and tales that would talk about totems and spirit animals and how the bear was considered one of the strongest. I did all sorts of research, talked with people and and finally discovered a location and outstanding guide where I could get up close and personal within the a polar bear.
